But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.2 Corinthians 12:9

HandiCapable Board Meeting
Present: Mike Hines, Jeff Morehead, Lori Holderman, Alan Myers, Ashley Kersh-Fletcher, Herschel Gulley
The meeting opened with prayer by Mike.
Treasury Report: We have $932 in our account. Eva has paid back the $600 used for grant writing school. We owe $46 to Red Dot Trophy and $150 to WARU.
1. We reviewed and discussed the Fundraising Guidelines to be used by anyone raising funds or asking for donations on behalf of Handicapable. Alan made a motion to accept these guidelines, seconded by Herschel.
2. It was noted that anyone attending the support group meetings are officially recognized as attendees, not members of the support group. Ashley, Mike and Jeff will work together to come up with a short form/questionnaire for attendees to fill out so that we can track the demographics of those attending and also evaluate our speakers.
Chili Cookoff:
1. We discussed and revised the flyer, sponsor form and entry form.
2. The logo looks great; Ashley will get the “1st” removed and email it to everyone.
3. We need to get a hand stamp to use for those who purchase chili tickets since admission will be free.
4. Mike and Jeff have contacted Red Gold about sponsorship and donations.
5. Dorothy Spangler will be in charge of kid’s activities. She has planned face painting, pumpkin painting, etc…
6. Eva Wildrick will be in charge of the entertainment and getting them where they need to be the day of the cook-off.
7. The showmanship winner will be chosen by the committee, the CASI winner will be chosen by CASI judges, the People’s Choice winner will be chosen by a ticket or ballot system and the Restaurant winner will be chosen by local judges. We would like to have approx. 10 judges and Lori will work on this.
7. Rather than going through the Chamber Directory to solicit, we will contact whoever we want and just verify with them if they have already been contacted.
8. Sue Gulley will work on a letter and contact all of the churches and doctors in the area.
9. Sandy at the Chamber will attach a team entry form and a small letter about Handicapable to all of her September newsletters to the Chamber members if we get it to her before September.
10. There is a CASI Cook-Off in Indianapolis on August 16th if anyone wants to go…Mike and Ginger are going, Alan might be going…call Mike for more info.
11. We need to confirm on t-shirt prices. If we don’t get any return calls locally, Lori can get prices from her dad, but it is in Logansport. Also, we need to decide where to have flyers and entry forms printed. Are we getting yard signs?
To Work on for Next Meeting:
Read the CASI Rules so everyone is clear on the process. If you don’t already have them, they can be printed off at www.chili.org/documents. We need to compile our list of rules with our logo at the next couple of meetings.
We need to determine who will be in charge of getting each of the following supplies:

Rope, tape, or flags to mark areas
Judging tables and chairs
Judging cups and spoons (bigger than others)
