But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.2 Corinthians 12:9

HandiCapable Board Meeting
The meeting opened with prayer by Mike. Treasury Report: $821.05
Attendees: Mike, Jeff, Ron, Eva, Judy, Alan, David, Lori
1. We are getting lots of good door prizes, list attached. Eva-let me know if any of these are incorrect.
2. Pepsi will provide us soda at cost and free cups, enough for 1,000 people. We will sell drinks for $1.00.
3. Comcast and WARU are running advertisements now.
4. We have 8 confirmed teams to date. (After meeting, CASI called Mike and said they have 8 additional teams signed up to attend our event).
5. We have a team to cook the Irish Chili recipe.
6. We have 4 banners and Alan will hang them ASAP.
7. Grant's are giving us their Fire Sale signs on Friday if we can figure out a way to recover them and use for our advertising.
8. Alan will go to Wendy's and ask for small chili cups in case anyone gets upset that their all-you-can-eat chili is in 2 oz. cups.
9. Jeff will let Alan know by Saturday if he is to find music for the motorcycle show.
10. Mike will confirm with Sam's Club on donation/cups, spoons, napkins, etc...
11. Kate and the Church will be doing the Kid's Corner from 12-4.
12. Jeff will be the main contact during the event. Everyone will have his cell phone and Annette will be his back up while he is doing Rugby Demo.
13. We need to give each team a trash bag when they check in for ALL of their trash. Other receptacles will be placed around for people eating chili (verify with fairgrounds if receptacles are available). Our 4-wheeler will pick up trash bags from cookers.
14. Gail is getting Jeff the registration information for the teams that have signed up so far so that he can mail them the rules, badges, etc.
15. We will sell shirts for $10.00 and hats for $5.00. We will have order forms for when we run out if people want to order some.
16. Jeff asked if we wanted to have our logo on the Rugby Team Shirts. The cost is $250.00 to have our logo on the back of 1,000 jerseys. JEff will donate $100, Mike will donate $50 so the cost to the group will be $100.00. After discussion, a vote of 2 no, 1 yes was taken.
17. After meeting, Darin Jester from Indiana Pepper Pod contacted Mike about our time line. He feels that the CASI cooks need more time than we have allowed. We will do a new schedule for them and give it to them when they check in.
18. After meeting, Mike said that Thrivent Financial, through St. John's Church, will match our proceeds up to $1,000. Yah!!
NEXT MEETING: October 8th, 4-H Fairgrounds, 6:00 P.M.
