But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.2 Corinthians 12:9

Harvesting Capabilities Board Meeting
The meeting opened with prayer by Mike.
Attendees: Alan Myers, Jeff Morehead, Mike Hines, Herschel Gulley, Randy Fletcher, Lori Holderman
Treasurer's Report: Current balance is $334.23
1. March Disability Month:
a. Community Awareness Day in Peru is March 9th from 1-3 P.M. at City Hall. The Mayor and Sandy Chittum have agreed to be in wheelchairs and follow Jeff around town. Lori will ask the city department heads and Ken Roland to confirm their participation. Jeff is planning the route.
b. The schools are also getting involved. Mike has contacted each school. All schools are participating (Maconaquah still needs to confirm). Contact person for each school: Dorothy Spangler or Amy Brenner, 395.7433, Oak Hill (anytime 16-20), Mrs. West, South Peru
Gail Vandyke or Vicky Davis, North Miami (anytime 16-23)
Karen Rice or Mary Blackburn, Elmwood School (anytime but 5th or 19th start at 1:15 on date picked, 30 minute times)
Mike Hines, Maconaquah School (Kelly Munsey will call when principal oks) Mike wants to meet with Mrs. West from South Peru and Amy Brenner from Oak Hill and get a good curriculum so we can be consistent with our message.
2. Millers Merry Manor is very excited about what Harvesting Capabilities is doing and is looking forward to helping as much as possible, both with Disability Month and our Assisted Living Center. They mentioned they might be able to provide office space for us, also.
3. Herschel has an opportunity to purchase a building at GARB for $1. We could then try to get grant money to fix it up for a storage and/or possibly another office location.
4. There is a board meeting at St. John's school tonight and they will be considering office space for Harvesting Capabilities. It would also include us having access to a meeting room for the support group meetings and board meetings. It is possible that we could get reduced or free rent. They also have expressed an interest in helping us with other things like printing brochures at a reduced price. Jeff Laycock has a building for rent for $300/month that would be big enough to accommodate the workout center. We will look at all options and discuss at the next meeting.
5. Harvesting Capabilities Fundraiser Chicken Noodle Dinner is March 28th at St. John's School. St. John's has a stage and we would like to possibly offer dinner theatre if we can find entertainment. Dorothy Spangler 395-7433 wants to help Eva with organizing this event. The plan would be to have drive thru service from 5-6:30 PM and then the dinner theatre would be 6:30-8:30. Alan will talk to Tammy Hileman and Lori will check with Jim Walker about entertainment options.
6. Randy will set us up with two food service vendors that he has accounts with so we can talk to them about donations. If no donations, Randy will get us food/ingredients at wholesale.
7. October 3 is the Chili Cook-Off. Alan will be the head pepper for the Chili Cook-Off and will find helpers. HE will also talk to Sara Musselman about splitting the proceeds from the beer tent. Red Barn Elephant is interested in coming to the chili cook-off and splitting proceeds. We won't be a CASI event this year. Randy would be willing to set up The Kreole Kid on that day as an additional fundraiser.
8. Rubber Stamps: Mike will contact Susie Gehle at CPB, who is an artist and will help us with research and other things we need for starting the rubber stamp business. She will also help with artwork. She is in the process of getting us prices from competing with area businesses and then she will get back with Mike. Mike is working with Jerry King and he will donate 1 day a week to help get this going.
Next Meeting: March 4, 12:30 P.M. Los Tres Caminos, West End
